Completely recommend Dr Sasha Hvidsten and her team
for adult autism diagnosis, as well as the work they do with children. There are some key differences for diagnosing adults compared with children (because some of the standard questions are often less relevant to an adult) but Sasha and her team made adjustments where needed and guided me through the process quickly and clearly, with humour and dignity. Aside from the diagnosis itself, Sasha’s team helped me to understand my sensory profile (the inputs that cause the most autistic stress) which has allowed me and my family to make some changes to how we operate. It’s hard to explain without going into very personal detail quite how dramatic a difference this has made, but my mental health is now better than it’s been in 37 years, and Sasha’s help in understanding how being autistic affects me has helped me improve my interactions with my family and at work”

- Richard

My son had been diagnosed with ADHD by Sasha.During that process
, it became clear to me that there were similarities in our experiences and behaviours. I underwent a diagnosis for ADHD with Sasha - a very clear and straightforward process. As ever, Sasha was clear in her communication and I felt very well supported during the process.

- Suzie

Sasha and the team were incredibly helpful in confirming my adhd and autistic spectrum diagnosis
, working in conjunction with my psychologist who had referred me to them. This then started me on a path to understanding the conditions better and how I can manage myself and my life to allow for them, I just wish I had known before the age of 50!

We met with Dr Hvidsten following a recommendation from another parent.
Her manner is exceptional, both kind, caring and engaging, whilst also employing a well judged pragmatic approach. She has been extremely proactive and has significantly improved the quality of life for both my son (ASD & ADHD) and I. She has taken the time to help me to feel more informed by weighing up the options available and then gently managing my expectations as to what we might expect with and without intervention. In my experience she is always happy to listen and offer guidance and I believe has a genuine desire to facilitate a positive outcome for all.

We have been seeing Dr Hvidsten for our 9 year old son who has ADHD and ASD.
What she has done for him is amazing and changed our lives so much for the better. She listens and understands, offering great strategies for us all to cope and manage his difficulties. Since seeing her our son as progressed hugely at school, more than we ever expected. He has gone from being a very insecure and anxious young boy to being far more content and happy with life. I would highly recommend Dr Hvidsten.

We are very satisfied with the outcome of our visits and subsequent treatment for our daughter.
Dr Hvidsten's approach and manner made it a relaxed and effective experience which led to a speedy improvement.

Dr Sasha Hvidsten not only helped my daughter but our entire family.
She listened to the concerns my daughter had from our first visit and instantly made our daughter feel at ease whilst not making false promises of a quick fix. We have seen her many times since and can honestly say we have our happy and healthy daughter back thanks to Sasha. Making the first step to see someone is hard particularly for young children who aren't really sure of their feelings or anxieties but Sasha genuinely recognises the problems early on and we cannot thank her enough for the support she has offered us. Would recommend to anyone.

Dr Hvidsten is currently working with our daughter who suffers from anxiety and is diagnosed with Aspergers.
Following a period of school refusal and significant changes in behaviour in our daughter which we were at a loss to understand or deal with, we met with Dr Hvidsten. She instantly created a connection with our daughter as well as reassuring us that she could help. She has provided us with immediate practical advice as well as diagnosis. Through the relationship of trust that Dr Hvidsten has built up with our daughter, she is now back at school and coping as well as she can. Dr Hvidsten has given her and us ‘tools’ to work through difficulties and is always quick to respond to any request for further support. I cannot recommend her more highly. She is professional, kind, supportive and obviously has a wealth of experience.

Our son has been a patient of Dr Hvidsten for nearly 18 months now.
We have been so impressed with the care and consideration that Dr Hvidsten has shown with regard to our son's care over that time. Our son has a complex range of conditions (ASD, ADHD and Tourettes) which have involved some very alarming and unsettling physical and mental health issues over the past 18months. Dr Hvidsten has been both informative and supportive throughout this time and I really don't know what we would have done without both her psychiatric/clinical expertise and her ability to explain things to us in a clear and understandable fashion. We particularly appreciate her knowledge and clinical expertise regarding Tourettes and associated conditions as this is rare to find. What my husband and I value most about Dr Hvidsten is her ability to connect with the patient and us as parents. She has been and continues to be an amazing supportive for us in treating our son. I would not hesitate to recommend her.

Autism is not a problem

Autism is not a problem.

The world wasn’t built for everyone. Schools, workplaces, and social rules weren’t designed with every mind in mind.

Autism is not something to overcome. What if it’s not about changing who you are—but about becoming more of yourself?

Autism isn’t a flaw in the machine. It’s a different design entirely. A powerful one, in fact. The kind that notices what others miss. That sees details, patterns, depth. That feels deeply, even if it’s hard to show.

The challenge isn’t you. It’s a society that hasn’t caught up yet.

Start with What You Love

One of the greatest gifts of an autistic mind is the ability to dive deep into a passion. Whether it’s train timetables, computer code, animal behaviour, or Norse mythology.

Let your passion shape your life, not be something you feel you must hide. It can be the spark behind a career, a business, a creative project—or simply a source of joy.

Design a Life That Works for You

You don’t have to live by someone else’s schedule or standards. Maybe you need more quiet time. Maybe you prefer working at night. Maybe small talk drains you, but deep conversations light you up.

That’s okay.

Build your life to support your nervous system, your thinking style, and your energy levels. This isn’t laziness or avoidance —it’s wisdom.

Find People Who Get You

Not everyone will understand your way of being. But some will.

Look for people who listen without trying to ‘fix’ you. Who don’t need you to explain or justify. People who see your differences and say: “That makes sense.”

You don’t need a big circle. Just a true one. Quality over quantity.

Prioritise Rest

The world can feel relentless, even a “normal” day can be exhausting.

So rest. Often. Without guilt.

Time alone, time with your special interests, time away from bright lights and noise. This isn’t selfish. It’s how you recharge. And without it, everything becomes harder.

You Are Enough

You don’t have to pretend. You don’t have to mask. You don’t have to shrink to fit.

You are allowed to take up space. To ask for what you need. To live in a way that honours your mind and your body.

Autism isn’t a detour from a meaningful life.

It is a meaningful life.

So live it on your terms.
The world needs your mind. Your voice. Your way.

Exactly as you are.
